Love Knot is Sheila O’Kelly’s first novel.
Sheila was born in Dublin, Ireland, and has lived there ever since. She is married with two grown-up children.
Sheila is a freelance journalist among other things. She left her staff job on the Irish Times business desk in 2002 to work freelance.
Until 2002, years of rolling rosters and night work along with young children did not leave much room for other interests. Since 2002, Sheila has:
- Written and published a novel, ‘Love Knot’
- Written, produced and directed a one-act play with Rathfarnham Theatre Group, ‘Angel Superhighway’
- Performed with Rathfarnham Theatre Group at the Mill Theatre Dundrum, and other venues
- Completed a diploma in plain English with the UK Plain English Campaign
- Devised, compiled and presented a plain English training course to people all over Ireland
- Been editor of Diabetes Ireland, a quarterly journal for people with diabetes
- Been editor of Cancer Professional, a quarterly journal for oncology professionals
- Completed writing and editing projects for other clients
- Opened a fortnightly underground restaurant in her home (SupperClubDublin)
- Started her second novel.
I’m, ah shucks you knew it was me didn’t you?, really hoping to sell lots of copies of Love Knot and to follow that on with my next novel. And some day to write novels full time.
Sheila – congratulations on your undertaking and also the completion of it!! I have 3 on the go which I still ‘must get round to’ one of these ays.
Okay – I’m off to try to write something.
Hope the second novel comes quickly.
Best wishes
John

Hi Shiela,
Just a quick note to inform you of a new website that we have set up recently for the promotion of Irish writers of poetry, prose and music as well as delving into the rich tapestry of Irish culture.
http://www.podcasts.ie specialises in bringing free audio podcasts features interviews with and exclusive readings and performances by Irish writers.
The site is in its infancy but already has several podcasts available for download or listen now, with many more ready for upload shortly and a host of writers agreeing to participate when their schedules allow.
We hope, when you have a chance you might check the site out and consider joining our growing band of writers. You can contact me on 071 9182210
Kind Regards
Jho Harris
